Once upon a time,
Through the silent meadows,
Rode an entity, through the rain
In silence, on a horse, dark as a shadow.
In its hand was a long reaper,
Of dark metal, seemingly sucking in light.
It sucked in life as it passed. It was fair.
People of power and money, the meek and the people of might,
No one could escape the entity’s glare.
It was the only thing, which owns us all,
Wherever we go in life, peaks of success or the depths of failure,
You always come around, to answer its call.
For all eternity, the wisp of life cannot linger.
We must all surrender one day, to the Death-bringer.
