The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: A Book Review

The Alchemist is one of those books that grips you tight throughout its content and even after you complete it, leaves you in a state of awe and wonder. It’s one of those books which you don’t want to end. The book itself is a symphony. With a dash of wisdom, a sprinkle of genius and an aftertaste of wonder.

The story revolves around a boy, and his journey to find his treasure, and of course, the Alchemist. The underlying concept of the book is that if a person is committed towards a certain goal, and works to realize it no matter what, the universe will work in favor of that person. The gears of the cosmos are designed to do so, and the will of the individual is the fuel to move the wheels. And of course. The universe will test the person. At first, it encouraged them with beginner’s luck. A bonus to make you keep trying and to keep you committed to the goal.

However, after this, several obstacles are thrown your way, and it is left to you to overcome them. The book also puts forward the concept of the “soul of the world”, and connecting to the same, will give you extensive will power to overcome the odds, as the universe will show you the way,,,, as long as you deeply desire it. It also emphasizes that the power of creation lies in everything around us, ranging from a small sand particle to the great mountains themselves.

The Alchemist is an ever relevant book which is written masterfully to inspire and drive generations to an end. This masterpiece by Paulo Coelho a must read for everyone. For, this book just doesn’t encourage you to shoot for the stars. It propels you to fly past them into the universe and beyond.
